Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Prodboard. By creating an account you accept them. They are written plainly on purpose — you should be able to tell what you are agreeing to without a lawyer.

1. Who you are contracting with

Prodboard ("we", "us") is the operator of this service. Registration and contact details are available on request. Write to support@prodboard.io.

2. What the service is

Prodboard is a subscription service for music producers. It manages projects across DAWs, backs up DAW project files with version history, tracks studio time, and shares audio with clients for feedback and approval. It includes a web application at app.prodboard.io and a desktop companion app for Windows and macOS.

3. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us an email address you actually read, because that is how we reach you about your subscription and about security.

One account is for one person. Team seats on the higher plans are the supported way to bring other people in; sharing a single login is not.

4. Your content stays yours

You own everything you upload. Your tracks, your stems, your project files, your notes. Nothing here transfers any ownership to us.

You grant us only the narrow licence we need to run the service: to store your files, transmit them, create backups and versions of them, generate waveform data and previews, and deliver them to people you choose to share with. That licence exists so the product can function and ends when you delete the content.

We will not use your content to train AI models, will not license it to anyone, and will not use it in marketing without asking you first.

5. What you must not do

If you break these terms we may suspend or close your account. Where the situation allows it we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your work.

6. Trial, pricing and billing

New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no card required. When it ends, the account keeps working on reduced limits until you subscribe — your files are not deleted because a trial expired.

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance, in US dollars, and renew automatically until you cancel. Annual billing charges ten months for twelve. Prices are shown on the pricing page; sales tax or VAT is added where the law requires it.

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as merchant of record. Their terms also apply to the payment itself, and your invoice comes from them.

If we change prices we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, and the new price applies from your next renewal — never mid-period.

7. Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any time from your billing settings. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate a partial month.

14-day refund: if you are unhappy within 14 days of your first payment, email us and we will refund it in full. Beyond that we do not normally refund, but if something went genuinely wrong on our side, ask — we would rather sort it out than argue.

8. Storage and fair use

Each plan includes a storage quota, and extra storage can be bought in blocks. If you exceed your quota, uploads are blocked but nothing is deleted — you can free space or add more.

Where a plan says "unlimited", that means no fixed cap in normal use. It does not cover automated abuse or use that degrades the service for others; in that rare case we will contact you before doing anything.

9. Backups — read this one

Prodboard keeps versioned copies of your project files and we take the job seriously. But no backup service should be your only copy. Software fails, accounts get locked out, and companies go away. Keep at least one independent backup of work you cannot afford to lose.

We do not guarantee that every file will always be recoverable, and our liability for lost data is limited as set out in section 12.

10. Availability

We aim to keep Prodboard running continuously, but we do not promise a specific uptime figure and there is no service credit. Maintenance that requires downtime will be announced in advance when we can predict it. The service depends on third parties — hosting, storage, payments — and their outages can become ours.

11. Changes to the service

We will keep improving the product, which sometimes means changing or retiring a feature. If we remove something you are relying on, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and, where it applies, a way to export the affected data.

12. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose beyond what is described on this site.

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost opportunities, or the cost of recreating work — even if we were warned it was possible.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

13. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time. We may close it if you materially break these terms, or with 30 days' notice if we discontinue the service — in which case we will refund the unused part of what you paid and give you time to export everything.

After closure your content is deleted within 30 days. Export first if you want to keep it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which Prodboard is registered, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this does not remove your right to bring a claim in your own country under your local law.

15. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Prodboard after that means you accept the new version. If you do not, cancel — and if the change disadvantages you mid-period, tell us and we will refund the remainder.

16. Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
